Recreational/Seasonal Classes
dansko Studios is pleased to continue a valued relationship with The Saanich Commonwealth Place (SCP) spanning 15 years. Through our partnership we are able to offer quality instruction to dancers who desire to learn many various dance forms in a non-competitive environment. Our faculty features high-energy, motivating instructors who will ensure that every dancer is challenged and has the opportunity to reach their personal potential.Registration for these 10-week sessions is staggered 3x/year and allows dancers to find their niche or just test a few styles out for fun!Recreations classes are determined by previous dance experience and age. Preschool Classes
Our Pre-dance classes for ages 3-5 years are designed to introduce young children to the art and joy of movement by exploring and expanding their creativity. Our experienced instructors will maintain the attention of these young students through musical exercises, dance games and fun props while building co-ordination, strength, flexibility and balance; all of the necessary tools to love dance for a lifetime.
These dancers will be a part of our full year/10 month dance program and will have the exciting opportunity to dance and perform in our spectacular year-end show “dansko Performs!” at the Royal Theatre in June.
Pre-Competive Classes
Dancers that register for our Pre-Competitive Program will train intensively in dance classes of their choice in a non-competitive environment. While maintaining the same technical standards that we do in our competitive program, these dancers will have the exciting opportunity to dance and perform in our spectacular year-end show “dansko Performs!” at the Royal Theatre in June.
Competitive Classes
Competitive dancers will compete locally and off island. Competitive dancers are required to take ADAPT Jazz and Tap exams each season. Dancers will be invited into our competitive program at the discretion of dansko’s Directors. dansko’s competitive dancer’s are required to do extra practice outside of class time to work on stretch, strength, skills and choreography.
